To rescue the Jewish Tree of Life, Merlyn and his companions must travel first to Israel and then through the branches of the tree, following the path of conscience through experiences at each of the nodes of the modern Kabbalah as represented in the Tree of Life diagram. Only when the Wizard and his friends figure out how to integrate the combined magics intellectual and magics spiritual presented during the quest will they be able to find their way out of the maddening Russian Jewish Faerie Realm of Chelm, past a mythic Golem and deliver to the roots of this representational Tree the nutrients it needs to survive.
